About this cartoon: California Governor Jerry Brown continues to push hard for high-speed rail, otherwise called the bullet train, even as public support has waned, costs keep rising, delays keep cropping up and speeds being forecast as lower than originally envisioned. To make matters worse, tech guru, businessman and visionary Elon Musk unveiled his concept of a "hyperloop" — a sort of pnuematic tube array to transport people at speeds vastly higher than the bullet train.
